Week 15: Creature Study Locomotion (Polish), Advanced Animation Shot (Planing)

This is polished version based on teacher’s feedback from last week. Especially, I focused on fixing the facial movement(to add directions such as Right & left), Ears, Foot movement & Foot Joint position as well. Also, I fixed the rotation for leg, in particular, the leg is moving inside.

Actually, this creature animation is very hard to make it and understand the animal body structure properly, because this kind of creature has a completely different style and body features and so on. For instance, Tiger & Leopard walk 4 legs without arm and hand. Also, they have a characteristic as carnivore !

Before I receive a feedback from teacher, I intend to make a new animation shot according to this image planning. However, I realized that it is more important to complete previs work instead of new animation. So I change my mind that I would like to polish previs works very well for making a good outcome as showreel or portfolio etc.

Furthermore, I understood that I should avoid to use slow motion reference and 3d animated reference video. So I will use a real video which I’ve recorded by myself or find a good real video.

Week 12: Breathing Animation, Dialogue Shot Blocking

In this week, I took the class online because of strike of transportation in London. And then, I made a overlapped character motion in following to lecture. The thing is a challenge for me, because I’ve experienced last unit work for overlapping in animation, and then, I couldn’t do it very well.

Week 11: Overlap

In this week, I learned how to make a overlapped animation by using sea monster. This work is so difficult for me, because I had to figure out how the sea monster move and then, try to make a motion. In particular, I’m struggled with which axis should move for expressing overlap into sea monster’s tail and body as well.
